The Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC) has selected three bidders to remediate around 4.7 lakh cubic metres of waste at all the eleven dump sites in the state. The selected bidders will be awarded the contract in the first week of December and the process of bioremediation work is expected to begin by December-end.

In August, the Corporation had floated a tender inviting companies to undertake the process of remediation of the dump sites within a period of two years and dispose the RDF within a period of three years, excluding the monsoon months of June to October.

The Navhind Times has quoted Minister for Science and Technology and Waste Management Michael Lobo as saying that the foundation stone for setting up waste management plant at Cacora will be laid down on December 13, 2019.
