The Trichy civic body is considering the privatization of solid waste management services in the city. The plan is currently in the proposal stage.

Shortage of sanitation workers is one of the major reasons for this, reports The New Indian Express.

A month ago the city authorities purchased 99 battery-operated vehicles at a cost of Rs 3.9 cr, as reported on SolidWasteIndia.
