Two consortia shortlisted for Brahmapuram Waste to Energy project

Two consortia for developing the WtE plant at Brahmapuram in Kochi, Ernakulam district, have been shortlisted by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC). The source does not identify the chosen consortiums. The proposal shall now be submitted to the Government.

In January 2021, KSIDC had re-tendered the 300 tonnes per day project after one bidder did not qualify due to the lack of eligibility requirements. The 5 MW proposal was facing several delays in the past due to the difficult legal situation and the COVID-19 pandemic.

It shall supply electricity for the Ernakulam cluster of local bodies, which includes Kochi Corporation and several municipalities, as further reported by The Hindu.
