Two waste projects in Aurangabad to be ready in three months, says minister

A 30-tonne per day (TPD) biogas plant in Kanchanwadi, Aurangabad will be ready by next month while the 150-TPD waste treatment plant in Padegaon will be ready in two months. This was announced by Maharashtra’s Minister of Industries Subhash Desai, who is also the District Guardian Minister.

The state government has approved Rs 148 crore for Aurangabad’s solid waste management (SWM) project. Currently, Aurangabad has only one 150 TPD waste treatment plant in Chikalthana. The Times of India reports that the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has missed several deadlines given by the high court previously on the completion of the SWM project.
