Update on Bengaluru projects

The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) opens a bid for waste-to-energy plants at already operational waste segregation units, as reported by Bangalore Mirror. The plants will be located at Lingadheeranahalli, Koodlu, and Kannahalli with a capacity of generating power from 50 to 100 tpd (at each unit) which will be sold to the grid. The project will be built under the design, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) model with the private party investing Rs 10 crore (EUR 1.35 million), operating for 20 years. The BBMP claims that each plant can generate 2MW power/day with a land requirement of just half-an-acre for plant construction.
