The Greater Chennai Corporation has issued plans to set up several WtE plants in the city. According to The Times of India, one WtE facility will be completed in Manali in August, while others have been planned for the zones of Madhavaram and Thiruvottiyur. The first of three WtE facilities planned for the Madhavaram zone will be completed by the end of August. The throughput of this plant will be 1.25 tonnes every hour. Further details of these projects have not been disclosed yet.
