According to The Deccan Herald, the construction of a 500 tpd WtE plant in Chikkanagamangala is expected to commence in three months. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has stated that the site will be inspected before construction commences. This is due to several protests against the plant’s establishment by residents citing environmental impact concerns. As reported earlier, the construction is estimated to cost INR 250 billion crores.
