According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the urban body has so far received two bids for the Mulund WtE project in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and no bids for the Deonar WtE project. The deadline for the Deonar WtE project tender has already been prolonged twice, as reported by DNA. At the moment, Mulund and Deonar each have one landfill site. The new WtE facility in Mulund should facilitate the closure of the Mulund landfill and cost around USD 96.3 million.
