The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has officially ordered the Pollution Control Board to collect air quality samples around the Okhla WtE plant in Delhi once in every four months from now on, NDTV reports. Furthermore, the Pollution Control Board was directed to conduct at least two surprise inspections and analysis of the plant per year. Those decisions were made as a reaction to a petition filed by local residents concerning the environmental impact of the WtE facility’s operations. The WtE plant in Okhla burns mixed waste and has already exceeded its emission values several times in the past.
