Although the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) has already allocated land for the biogas project at Tajpur Road in Buddha Nallah, Punjab, it has not yet been built, as it is still unclear if dairy owners, who would supply manure to the project, will remain in the area. Currently, there are about 170 dairy units close to the allocated site, as was reported be The Times of India. The plant will have the capacity to generate 1 MW of electricity and produce around 4,000 kg of biomethane. The project has already been tendered three times.
