Update on plastic waste projects in Odisha

The housing and urban development department of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has started construction of a plastic waste treatment plant at a dumping yard in Bhuasuni, Odisha, according to Telegraph India. As further reported, another plastic treatment facility near Sainik School, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is currently on hold. The plans for the plant in Bhuasuni were announced by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation in 2016. The plastic shredding unit was said to be worth INR 14 million (EUR 175,000) and to treat at least five tpd of waste.
