The government of Punjab, northern India, has approved an INR 710 million (EUR 8.7 million) bio-compressed natural gas project, as reported by the Business Standard. The project will be set up by Verbio India Private Limited, a subsidiary of German bioenergy provider Verbio AG, in the village Bhutal Kalan of Lehragaga tehsil, Sangrur district, and is estimated to utilise about 100,000 tpy of paddy straw to produce 33.23 tpd of compressed biogas and 144,000 tpy of compost.
