Waste-to-fuel plant in Bhubaneswar under construction

As reported by the Orissa Post, construction on a waste-to-fuel plant at Indian Railways’ Mancheswar railway station, Bhubaneswar, has begun. The plant costs INR 20 million. It uses a patented technology called Polycrack, which was developed by Indian Railways’ Carriage Repair Workshop in Bhubaneswar. The process converts multiple feedstocks, such as plastic, petroleum sludge, unsegregated MSW, electronic and organic waste, into hydrocarbon liquid fuels, gas, carbon and water. The facility is slated to be commissioned in January 2020.
