Construction work at the Njeliyanparamba WtE project in Kozhikode, Kerala is expected to commence in August 2021 and shall be completed by September 2023, reports The Hindu.
The project is running behind schedule, mainly due to the lack of personnel and further pandemic-related obstacles. The 6 MW project is said to be worth INR 2.5 billion (EUR 31 million) and capable of treating 450 tpd of waste.
The PPP project will be constructed by Zontra Infratech on a DBFOT scheme and be handed over to the city corporation after 25 years. Construction at the plant first started in early 2020.
