The state government has asked the Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation to identify suitable plots of land for the proposed WtE facility in Peringamala, The Times of India reports. Although the local governmental body has started work on a list of suitable locations, there have been delays in the location scouting process, as reported by ecoprog in February. The proposed WtE facility is currently at odds with a government directive advocating a decentralised waste management system, involving aerobic bins, material recovery facilities and home composting.
