WtE project in Chikkanagamangala to take off by 2020

The source provides an update on plans for a 500 tpd WtE plant in Chikkanagamangala, Bengaluru. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) intends to issue a work order to a French Company, 3Wayste on 16 January, 2019. 3Wayste and BBMP have already signed an agreement towards setting up the 8 to 10 MW project. The plant was initially due to be operational by December 2018, but has been delayed till March 2019. According to the source, the project is planned to be set up within 6 months from now. 3Wayste will also be producing compost and fertilisers for 30 years. The company has been mandated to sell the electricity to Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) at INR 7.08/KWh for a fixed period of time.
