WtE project in Deonar faces another delay

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has extended the bidding deadline for the WtE project in Deonar by another month, as reported by The Indian Express. This comes after the four bidders interested in the project asked to conduct a contour survey and estimate the calorific value of the waste. This is the sixth delay in the project’s history, which has an allocated budget of INR 100 crores. The 10 MW will process 600 tonnes of waste per day. In a statement, the Deputy Municipal Commissioner mentioned that this project is the first of its kind in India.
