A proposed WtE project in Samgoli, Dera Bassi, has been scrapped by the authorities of Punjab.
As further reported, the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and the Mohali Municipal Corporation (MC) received approval by the Punjab Government for an MoU for the development. As indicated by the source, the NTPC backed out of the plan end of 2020. Local authorities have stated that RDF production for the co-incineration in cement kilns is currently considered.
