Three new biogas plants should be operational by Februrary 2024 near Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The plants are supposed to be set up at the direction of Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) in Manali, Shollinganallur, and Koyambedu. All biogas plants across Chennai should process around one third of the city’s waste. More specific details were not mentioned in the source.
According to the source, two AD plants are already operational in Chetpet and Madhavaram, producing 6 tonnes of biogas per day.
