After the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) floated a tender for a WtE facility in Kozhikode, three additional tenders for WtE facilities in Kollam, Palakkad and Kannur will be released by the end of January 2019. As The New Indian Express reported, any international or local based company having at least one year of experience in running a similar plant constructed on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis is eligible to apply. Amongst others, technologies such as plasma gasification and pyrolysis have been shortlisted by the state, and the company can decide the technology to be used.
