As announced by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), the local authority has entered contracts with three unidentified companies to set up WtE plants. According to AMC, each of the firms will set up a 1,000 tpd WtE facility with a generation capacity of 16 MW. Furthermore, it was stated that the capacity of the plants should be gradually increased to 1,200 tpy after commissioning. As reported by The Times of India, Gujarat’s Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) is currently determining a feed-in tariff for WtE plants, which would also apply to these projects.
