A Coimbatore Councillor has offered residents who segregate a free trip to Ooty as a reward for their service. Launching a door-to-door campaign in Annur town panchayat, Mr Ranganathan, an independent councillor from Ward 12 of Annur Municipality has said he will bear all the expenses of the trip, which is scheduled for June 5, World Environment Day.
There are 15 wards in the Annur municipality, and no landfill. With this in mind, the Councillor has been raising awareness among residents on how to segregate their waste. The first 50 people who segregate will be selected for the Ooty trip via a lottery, reports News18.com.
