On Sunday evening, a new fire erupted at Kochi’s Brahmapuram solid waste treatment plant. Firefighters were able to put out the blaze with the help of eight fire engines. Despite efforts to quickly extinguish the fire, local self-government minister M B Rajesh acknowledged that it couldn’t be immediately contained due to the high temperatures in the area.

As a precautionary measure, five fire engines were stationed at Bramapuram since the recent fire, which allowed for a quick response within 10 minutes of the fire starting this time.
