Update on Daighar Waste to Energy project

The Waste to Energy project in Daighar, Thane City, Maharashtra, is expected to begin its first phase of operations in two to three months.

The second phase is also expected to start in the coming months (no definite time mentioned in the source). Initially the plant was expected to be operational from autumn 2020 and process 600 tpd of waste each in two phases. As further stated, the Daighar plant is expected to be an alternative to dumping in the local municipalities.
