Authorities yet to renew waste plastic import licenses

Import licenses for plastic waste that will expire in November 2018 have not yet been renewed by the competent Indian authority. As of now, there are 35 licencesed companies that can import waste plastics in to India. According to Eurostat statistics, a total of 109,000 tons of plastic were exported to India from the EU in 2017, as reported by EUWID Recycling & Entsorgung 38.2018.
