Balco co-firing biomass at thermal plant in Korba

The company Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (Balco) has started co-firing of biomass briquettes at its thermal power plant in Korba, Chhattisgarh.

Balco, a subsidiary of Indian Oil & Gas and Metals company Vedanta Resources, will be using 50 tpd of biomass briquettes made of agriculture residues. As further reported, one of its biomass briquettes suppliers is Bhoomi Agro Produce Pvt. Ltd.

According to other media reports, Balco Korba power station may refer to a total of three coal-fired power facilities near the Balco aluminium plant in Korba.
