The BBMP’s most prominent face in the solid waste management department, Special Commissioner Mr Randeep D has been transferred with immediate effect. He will now be taking charge as Special Commissioner, BBMP – Health.
Mr Randeep’s post will now be handled by Dr Harish Kumar K, who is Commissioner of Employment and Training, reports The Hindu.
Mr Randeep has been a popular figure among the Bengaluru public during the last three years, earning the confidence of waste management activists for his attempts to reform the ill-managed waste management system of the city. He had previously been transferred in 2018 but had to be reinstated after a public uproar.
