BBMP to distribute compost to farmers for free

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has decided to clear tonnes of second-grade compost by distributing it free of cost to local farmers. The BBMP is also distributing first-grade compost to the farmers at Rs 200 kg.

1,500 MT of compost is currently in stock at the Doddabidarakullu Solid Waste Processing plant.

The second grade compost can be used for coconut, mango, areca nut, pomegranate, guava and other horticultural  crops, reports The Times of India.
