BBMP to set up composting unit in each ward

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is planning to set up biomethanation and composting units in all wards to make them zero wet waste discharge areas.

Segregated garbage from households and commercial establishments in each ward will be processed to reduce the overall volume of the city’s garbage. The Times of India reports that currently 13 BBMP wards have biomethanation and composting units which will be operational before January 31.
