Beverage producer to establish PET recycling programme

As reported by the Times of India, the Indian beverage producer Parle Agro has announced plans to establish an end-to-end PET plastic waste recycling programme, with a total investment of INR 50 crore over the next three years. Plans for the project include an annual collection of 3.2 billion PET bottles and the recycling of 50,000 tpy of PET. According to the source, Parle Agro has partnered with the Indian Pollution Control Association and NEPRA Resource Management Pvt. Ltd for this project. However, it is unclear whether Parle Agro intends to build a recycling plant.
