Bhalswa WtE plant construction to begin in August

As announced by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, construction work at the Bhalswa waste-to-energy plant will commence by the end of August. This will mark the city´s fourth WtE plant after Ghazipur, Narela-Bawana and Okhla. The civic agency has awarded the contract to Essel Group. The 1,500 metric tpd plant will be constructed next to the Bhalswa landfill and it will be used to generate 15MWe. While the plant is being constructed, Essel will request environmental clearance from concerned authorities. The deadline for commissioning the plant has been set to August 2020, reported the Hindustan Times.
