Bhubaneswar WtE plant proposal on hold

According to the Orissa Post, the proposal by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) for setting up a 11 MW WtE plant at Bhuasuni dumpsite is still waiting for approval. According to the source, the Terms of Reference (ToR) granted to the project by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), have been revoked in 2018, making it illegal to dump waste and set up a WtE plant at the Bhuasuni dumpsite. The WtE plant is expected to cost around INR 200 crores.
