The bio-CNG plant in the village of Bhutal Kalan, Punjab, is due to become operational by November 2021. The plant located in Lehra Tehsil, Sangrur district, is supposed to process up to 150,000 tpy of paddy residue, according to the Times of India.
It is being built by Verbio India Private Limited, a subsidiary of German-based Verbio. The current source further indicates that more than 33 tpd of CBG or bio-CNG is to be produced.
Earlier sources said that feedstock should only amount to 100,000 tpy of paddy straw and other agricultural waste and the plant is to be located at a former sugar plant in Rakhra.
