Hydromet to build new LiBs recycling plants

Gujarat-based metallurgy company Hydromet has announced plans for three new lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) recycling plants in India and overseas, as reported by PV Magazine.

The combined annual capacity is expected to reach 10,000 tons. A 1,000 tpy recycling plant is to be built in Gujarat. Another unit should be set up in a different Indian state and one plant overseas. The one in Gujarat will be using Hydromet’s patented Hy-BREC technology, as further stated. LiBs should come from, amongst others, mobile phones, laptops and EVs.
