Biogas from cow-dung in Lucknow

Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has proposed a project that will generate biogas and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) from cow dung. In a bid to make the city’s Gaushalas (cow shelters) self-dependant, the Municipal Corporation has sent the proposal to the state government.

LMC hopes to start work on the project by March next year. ANI quoted the Lucknow Municipal Commissioner Indramani Tripathi as saying that three private companies from Maharashtra and Firozabad have shown interest in the project.
