A new source is commenting on the WtE project in Brahmapuram, Ernakulam District, Kerala. Even after seven years, as per the source, the project has not yet been implemented. Reportedly, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) has also not yet been completed.

In 2021, two unnamed consortia were shortlisted by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC). In January 2021, KSIDC re-tendered the 300 tpd, 5 MW project, after one bidder had not qualified due to the lack of eligibility requirements.

The proposal was facing several delays in the past. It should supply electricity for the Ernakulam cluster of local bodies, which includes the Kochi Corporation and several municipalities.
