Cement kilns in Kashmir to utilise RDF

According to The Greater Kashmir, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has decided to convert waste into RDF for use in cement plants in order to ensure proper management of wastes. Non-biodegradables, which is estimated to be 20 to 30% of 450 metric tons of waste generated daily in the municipality, will be shredded for use as RDF in various cement factories and brick kilns. Towards the achievement of this purpose, a study tour was carried out on 21 December 2017 to gather information about the cement plants that utilise RDF in the country.
