Takeover of Chandigarh RDF plant failed

The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (CMC) is looking for a new firm to take over the RDF production facility currently operated by the Jaypee Group. Originally, company Mars Group was announced to be Jaypee’s successor, but the takeover failed due to a conflict about the salvage value payable to Jaypee. Apparently, CMC’s potential new contractor should either upgrade the existing plant or replace it with a WtE facility. CMC has cut Jaypee’s contract earlier this year, following a dispute about waste gate fees, as further stated by Tribune India.
