Chandigarh RDF plant ordered to restart operations

As reported by The Indian Express, India’s National Green Tribunal has ordered company Jaypee Group (JP) to resume operations at it’s Chandigarh RDF facility until 27 July. A case was filed by the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (CMC), which delivers around 75% of Chandigarh’s waste to the facility. JP stopped operations at the plant on 11 July. Recently, the company was in conflict with CMC about waste gate fees and also pled that parts of its machinery would be out of order. CMC claims that JP is not entitled to any waste treatment gate fees, which the company demands to cover operational losses.
