State government to review Brahmapuram WtE plans

As reported by The Times of India, Kerala’s government will review the Rs 295 crore Brahmapuram WtE proposal again as there are too many unsettled points. According to the Minister for Local Administration, there are still concerns about the gasification waste treatment method, as this method has never been tested before in India and might not be suitable for India’s mostly wet waste. The project’s goal is to produce 8 MW of power by treating 109,500 tons of MSW per year.
