Chandigarh tackles C&D waste

Rock Garden, Chandigarh

Chandigarh has stepped up efforts to mechanize its upcoming Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste plant following the finalization of the Union Territory’s (UT) new C&D management policy.

The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation recently cleared public objections received for the policy. It has now been sent to the Chandigarh administration for final notification.

The new C&D Waste Policy aims to reuse 100% C&D waste in the city after recycling. The UT will give various options to residents to bring C&D waste to its plant in Industrial Area.

The new plant will help manage C&D waste in Panchkula and Mohali as well.
