Chandigarh unable to find buyer for RDF

Even though the new RDF facility in Chandigarh, located right between the Indian states of Haryana and Punjab, has officially begun operations, there still seems to be no buyer for the RDF produced there. The facility, featuring an adjoining composting plant, is being operated by the Jaypee Group, as reported by Tribune India. Before, the Jaypee Group had considered to utilize the RDF itself but has now decided to sell the RDF, instead. Currently, all the unsold and unused RDF is piling up at Jaypee’s RDF site. The population of Chandigarh produces around 164,250tpy of waste. Most of this waste is being treated at the respective RDF plant.
