Chennai tenders Kodungaiyur Waste to Energy project

The Greater Chennai Corporation has reportedly launched the tender for its WtE project in Kodungaiyur, Chennai.

The future plant should process 2,100 tonnes (tpd as ecoprog understands) and generate 21 MW. In March 2024, it was announced that the plant is scheduled to be be commissioned in 2 years.

According to earlier sources, the plant is to process wet waste and RDF generated from treatment plants in Kodungaiyur and Perungudi.
