Essel Infraprojects has announced the commencement of construction at Nagpur waste-to-energy plant in Maharashtra. This has been reported by United News of India. For this puropse, the company has set up a subsidiary, Nagpur Solid Waste Processing & Management Pvt. Ltd (NSWPMPL), to develop the project with an investment of INR 2.19 billion (EUR 27 million). Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will contribute INR 700 million (EUR 8.7 million) for financing the project. The plant will be operated and maintained by NSWPMPL for 13 years. The plant is planned with an input capacity of 256,000tpa of waste for the generation of 11.5MWe.
