Construction of Deonar WtE plant to start next year

According to a media report, construction works at the planned Mumbai Deonar WtE plant are scheduled to start in 2017 and projected to last at least 3 years. As was reported by The Indian Express, the project is developed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), which has reportedly started a tender process in November. As stated by previous sources, the WtE plant should treat 3,000 tpd of waste, generating 30 MWel. Project costs are estimated to amount to INR 10 billion (USD 148 million).
