Construction has begun on the first phase of the Daighar C&D incineration plant. As reported by DNA India, the Thane Municipal Corporation is hoping that both phases of the project will be operational by autumn 2020 and process 600 tpd of waste each. Once the entire plant is operating, Daighar will be able to handle waste generated by other municipalities as well.
