Project S.O.R.T. takes off in Delhi

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has launched a special project to source segregate organic waste and produce compost from wet waste using an eco-friendly aerobic composting technology.

The West Zone authorities launched Project S.O.R.T. (Segregation of Organic Waste for Recycling and Treatment) at DAV School in Vikas Puri. It will also be launched before August 15 in four more societies with the goal of creating a zero-waste ecosystem. According to the MCD, the project supports the Central Government’s Swacch Bharat Mission and aims to achieve a zero-waste ecosystem for societies, schools, and institutes.

“This project was initiated as a step toward source segregation of organic waste and to produce compost from wet waste using an eco-friendly aerobic composting technology – Aerobin, according to Outlook, which adds that it converts organic waste into compost in 40-45 days.
