The Deonar WtE project in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is now set to be commissioned in October 2025.
The plant is to be constructed at the Deonar dumping ground, which is to close once the WtE plant is operational.
The 600 tpd, 4 MW project has been underway since 2016, but faced multiple delays during the application and tender process. Construction started in June 2022, with Chennai MSW Pvt Ltd as DBO contractor.
