The status of the WtE project in Deonar, Mumbai, remains unclear. Even though the bidding process for the project had been opened, the project obviously failed to attract any bidders, the Mumbai Mirror reports. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) initiated the project, which features the construction of a new WtE plant with a capacity of 30 MW of electricity and an intake capacity of 960,000 tpy of waste. The BMC has now extended the deadline of the tender process until 25 October 2017.
