The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has announced it will soon ban plastic waste entering corporation limits from other states. Vehicles carrying such waste will be stopped at toll booths.

The DPCC plans to send a notice to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) regarding the same. Plastic waste from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh is often recycled at Bawana, Mundka and Baadli in New Delhi.

DPCC has been working actively to tackle plastic waste pollution in the city. By June 30, 2022, all producers, merchants, the general public, and shopkeepers have been informed to stop using single-use plastic (SUP). In addition, the DPCC has asked all raw material manufacturers to stop supplying plastic goods to companies that sell forbidden SUP products.
